Jewish Family Service of the Lehigh Valley's volunteers assist people in many ways. They drive people without transportation to medical appointments and food shopping. Do you have the gift of gab? A good sense of direction? A ready hand when it comes to organizing things? Do you just enjoy helping people, in any way you can?

If so, there are many rewarding ways to volunteer at JFS-LV! You can...

• Make friendly phone calls to people who are homebound
• Drive people without transportation to appointments, visits and shopping
• Bring holiday food baskets to homebound people
• Assist with mailings
• Help keep the Kosher Food Pantry in order
• Offer specialized computer and office expertise to staff
• Help seniors with spring cleaning
• Lend your talents and knowledge in any number of other ways

If you love to meet people, JFS-LV has rewarding volunteer opportunities for you as a friendly visitor. Among the people who would like to be visited are:

• A classical music lover who is looking for a Spanish-speaking visitor
• A 95-year-„young‰ man who seeks a Yiddish-speaking visitor
• A dynamic, colorful woman with lots of good stories to tell
• Seniors who would love to schmooze and play cards

All of the people described above live in assisted living communities.

Can you can play a tune on a penny whistle? Mimic the sound of an orchestra on a synthesizer? Do you have a flair for telling stories or writing and acting out skits? Whatever your creative skills, JFS-LV would love to have you share your talents with seniors in assisted living communities and nursing homes.
