Your generosity can help JFS-LV help people in our community. Your contribution may be made to JFS-LV's General Fund or may be directed to a special program such as the Kosher Food Pantry, Education and Programs, Senior Services, Director's Discretionary Fund, and Emergency Fund.

There are many ways you can support our work with children and adults:

The Tree of Life

Spring has arrived,
our tree is in bloom,
All the leaves are growing,
yet there's plenty of room.
To honor a family member
loved one or friend,
A donation to JFS
we hope you will send.
Their names will be engraved
on a leaf of our tree,
displayed proudly and
honorably for all to see.

Your gift* can make a great difference in the lives of people in our community. Help JFS-LV continue to provide high quality social service to our neighbors. When you make a donation, the name of the person you are honoring or remembering will be engraved on a leaf of our tree.

You may also wish to remember JFS-LV in your will or family foundation.

* Tree of Life donations $1000 minimum.

Tribute Cards

Whether it is congratulations for a special milestone or accomplishment, a wish for a speedy recovery, or remembering a loved one, a tribute card from JFS-LV is a wonderful way to share your thoughtfulness with family and friends. For a donation of $7 or more (the amount is up to you), we will send a lovely card to the recipient of your choice, letting them know of your contribution to JFS-LV. Cards may also be purchased in bulk for a handy supply when occasions arise.

Centerpieces for Tzedakah

Make your special occasion even more meaningful! By renting Centerpieces for Tzedakah, you add a beautiful touch to your luncheons, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, anniversaries, birthday parties, or other celebrations. These beautiful baskets can be individually tailored to meet your needs. Proceeds from the rentals benefit JFS-LV's Kosher Food Pantry.

Car Donations

JFS-LV Can Provide Tax Relief. Donate Your Car and Help Families.

With just a short time left until 2006, it’s time to start thinking about ways to reduce your tax liability. Jewish Family Service offers a great opportunity for you to save on your taxes while helping families in your community.

Donating your car, truck or motorhome to JFS-LV is a win/win for everyone. You get a receipt for your charitable donation, and JFS-LV receives the proceeds from the sale of the vehicle.

Furniture and Appliance Donation

Are you downsizing or moving and don't know what to do with furniture and appliances you no longer need? Why not donate them to JFS-LV's Furniture Donation Program?

Donation is easy and convenient. Simply call JFS-LV and tell us what you would like to donate; items must be 5 years old or less and in good condition. We will call a local resale store and, if they believe the items are resellable, the store will send a van to your home to pick them up.

Donating your furniture helps JFS-LV in two ways:

• FS-LV receives a percentage of the profits
• JFS-LV is entitled to purchase used furniture from the resale store for families in need at reduced prices.

Help JFS-LV with Donations to Once is Not Enuff and The Elephant’s Trunk Consignment Shops

You bought the blouse on vacation, but you find little use for it now. Or you received a lovely scarf as a present, but you just don’t like to wear scarves. Why not donate items like these to the Once is Not Enuff Consignment Shop, at South Fourth and Main Streets in Emmaus?

Once is Not Enuff takes women’s clothing that is in season, in excellent condition, lightly used and in style. The shop specializes in designer labels and quality clothing. A percentage of the sale price goes to JFS-LV to benefit people in our community.

Similarly, when you make donations to The Elephant’s Trunk, a percentage of the sale price goes to JFS-LV.

The Elephant’s Trunk, located at 348 Main Street, Emmaus, accepts antiques, collectibles, and new and nearly new items in good condition. These include pictures, china, pottery, glassware, jewelry, silver, furniture, cookbooks, coffee table books, and much more. The shop does not accept novels, clothing, used electrical appliances, draperies, computers or electronic equipment.

You may bring items you’d like to donate to The Elephant’s Trunk and Once is Not Enuff to JFS-LV, 2004 Allen Street, and we will take them to these consignment shops. Please bring items from Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information call 610-821-8722.
